Question : Problem: Monitor Flickers on USB device connection

I am having a continuous issue with one of my monitors. On a Windows Vista Business machine with a dual-monitor configuration, the primary monitor is deciding to flicker (i.e. jump to black and back very quickly) when doing certain things. For example, if I connect a USB device, I hear the connection tone and at the same time, the monitor will flicker.

My additional display remains on throughout this. NVIDIA drivers have been updated.

If anyone has any ideas, please do let me know, as I am at a loss as to where the issue is here (OS, video card, drivers etc.)

I appear to have successfully fixed my issue.

I was desperate for a fix today as it was really annoying me.  FOr the heck of it I decided to try changing out the Monitor drivers.  They were previously detected as the "Generic PNP Monitor". I downloaded and installed the actual manufacturers drivers for my primary monitor and installed it, since then no more screen flash.  

GIve that a try and see if it works for you.
