Question : Problem: How do I configure sane with a network scanner

I have the machine, HP Officejet J6480 All-in-one, configured with hplip as a network printer and it works fine both on linux and MS Windows.  hp-toolbox doesn't have any way to configure network scanners; I've not been able to find anything about it in the sane documentation either.

Google showed one tutorial that purported to explain direct network scanning, but that part doesn't seem to exist (http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/tutorials/6411).

if the scanner is not a network scanner, you will need some software :  http://www.remote-scan.com/
