Question : Problem: Where to buy Replacement CD DVD-RW for Intel iMac (aluminum case)

The CD-ROM / DVD-RW on my Intel based iMac Duo Core (aluminum case) just burned out. only 1 year old. Can anyone point me to a solid replacement (low cost) for this iMac? Seen some for approx. 200-300 bucks. Dont want to spend as much as the iMac itself for a replacement Cdrom. Thanks, Mark

Check with apple to see if your CD Rom is covered under warranty or maybe a recall, as 1 year seems pretty quick. It may be a known issue (I got free replacement motherboards from Dell on boxes over three years old because they had a known flaw)
