Question : Problem: Drivers needed for Win98 DVD player on Sony Vaio PCG9201

Need to reinstall drivers for DVD, but customer does not have original driver/restore CD and Sony does not seem to have the drivers for  download.  The make of the DVD player is Toshiba, but there are no other discernable external details.

Customer REALLY wants to fix.

Vendors do not allow download of DVD player software because of licensing issues, encryption, and the DMCA law.

You will have to get a new copy. Sony may give or sell you another set of restore CD's, but I'm guessing they won't be free.

Another option is that many new video cards and all DVD-ROM drives come with DVD player software.

Or you can buy DVD player software pretty cheaply.
